The Forest Research Station possesses seven Experimental Forests of Teshio, Nakagawa, Uryu, Sapporo, Tomakomai, Hiyama and Wakayama, mainly in Hokkaido, of a total area of 700 km2 (about 1/500 of the country area of Japan: 70,000ha).
The outdoor fields where even this world takes pride in its eminent scale comprise
pristine forests and rivers and various flora and fauna including rare species; it allows education research of all fields about forest to be achievable. Faculty and technical staff with a range
of specialties with unique profession are affiliated with each Experimental Forest or
facility.
